ATTACHMENT STYLE JOURNAL PROMPTS

Romantic & Friendship Love is a profound way that our Heart is reflected to us; showing us our triggers, our armour's and our pain.

By processing our pain that creates our attachment style, we can move deeper into Love in our romantic relationships and friendships, from a place of security. By mobilising safe Love, we expand our capacity for Life Force in the body, which then catalyses our outer experience.

Optional Extra Journal Prompts:

  • Write a letter of thank you to Ganesha for removing the obstacle.

  • Consider that the obstacle could be a reflection of some part of yourself. (For example, if it’s a person, are you communicating clearly with them and setting boundaries and meeting your needs? If it’s someone who caused you pain, could you still b e carrying the pain and resentment, could you maybe then write a letter of forgiveness or a few sentences - not to send, but for you). How can you take responsibility for the creation and dissolution of the obstacle or blockage?

SHORTER PRACTICES

Showing up for your daily devotion when you are short on time, or having space between longer, more intense sessions.

Tune in to Joy and Love and your Heart with these shorter practices.

Put on a lively, happy, vibrant piece of music and dance as wildly and expressively as possible! Loud or through headphones!

Set a timer (5 minutes minimum), close your eyes, and breathe into your Heart for the duration. You can also tap your Heart for the duration, too.

Set a timer for 5 minutes, close your eyes, bring your attention to your body, and tune in to what you Feel.

Father Wound Journal Prompts

I invite you to create a sacred space before you dive in.

Choose a space where you feel comfortable and make it as energetically inviting as possible by lighting candles, incense, sage, Palo Santo, or anything that allows your heart to feel more open and safe.

From there, allow yourself up to 30 minutes or longer to answer the following questions.

Please do not overthink them; answer from your heart and intuition, as they are always right. You can always reflect on why and what you responded later.

  • What did you learn about love by watching how your father loved (or didn’t)?

  • What happens inside your body when you visualize your father or feel his energy?

- Did your bodily response surprise you? If yes, how?

  • As a child, what did you most long for from my father that you didn’t receive?

-How do I think that has shaped the way that you relate Now?

  • What beliefs about worth, success, strength, or masculinity did you inherit from him?

Which of these beliefs no longer serve me?

  • What is the most painful truth about your relationship with my father that you might rarely say out loud?

  • What did his absence, silence, criticism, unpredictability, or emotional distance cost you?

  • Where did I secretly believe it was my fault? And how is that actually Not True?

  • What did I believe I had to fix or become to make him love me?

  • How did I internalize his limitations as my inadequacy?

  • What shame am I still carrying that belongs to him, not me?

Be gentle with yourself as you move through these.

Sit with any emotions that you need to sit with, allow them to process through your body, if you need a cathartic release of a scream or pillow punching, then do that unashamedly!

Additional: Write a letter of Love, hope, and encouragement to the child version of yourself. Visualise her and send her deep love.

What is blocking the Heart? Practice and HEART SHADOW WOrK Journalling With Kirsty

WOMB HEART RIVER MEDITATION

The womb is powerful in ht organ network energetically. Generating truth, intuition, boundaries, fierceness, wildness, and creation.

This is a simple meditation connecting the womb and the Heart through the breath. Allow the breath to flow into the heart and expand it, and then as you exhale, drift your attention to the womb space. Follow the flow in a circular motion with your awareness.

Write a love letter to yourself!

Bonus Points: Put it in an envelope and post it to yourself

Set a timer for 5-10 minutes. Sit in front of a mirror, or stand in front of a mirror. Meet your own eyes, hold eye contact with yourself. Repeat “I love you”, “I see you” with spaces of silence, and hold your eye contact.

Lie face up on the floor. Choose a few songs or set a timer for 5-10 minutes.

Take deep breaths into the Heart, and exhale fully. With each exhale, allow yourself to release what you are holding in your tissues, allow yourself to sink deeply into the floor. Each breath relaxes you further and takes you deeper. Inhales into the Heart, exhales deep relaxation and sinking into the floor.

WEEK three - EXPRESSION

This week is about the Heart (of course) and about EXPRESSION.

TRUTH is LOVE, and so when we hinder the flow of energy in our body, when we prevent ourselves from speaking the truth, out of fear, we create stagnancy in our experience, and we do whomever we thin we are ‘protecting’, a disservice because we are not allowing them to navigate their won experience in Truth.

The truth will never take you anywhere that you aren’t meant to be. The truth is Love.

So let’s look at where we have blocked the flow of Life force through not speaking the truth, lets access parts of ourselves that are shut down and small, lets take up space, use our voices, and express ourselves. Lets feel BIG and POWERFUL and WILD and FREE.

This Heart Voice Meditation is about bringing awareness to who may have created suppression in your expression, and about meeting the energy of unexpressed truths and ideas and embodying them.

Journal Prompts for after the Meditation:

Write a letter of forgiveness &/ compassion to the person who created suppression of your expression

What ideas/ways of expressing yourself have you had that you haven’t bought to Life? (Art, Poetry, Writing a book, singing, or creative ideas that are either personal or for something to share)

Why do you feel you haven’t birthed these ideas/expressions; what has prevented their expression?

What stories do you tell yourself about your expression and its worthiness?

It what situations do you hold yourself back from speaking your Truth and why?

What idea/area of expression feels the most alive and exciting for you right now?

How can you allow more of you depression to manifest? (Speaking truth, writing, expressing through art, screaming in the car or into a pillow, dancing in private, etc etc)

Heart Vocal Practices

INVITATION: SAY IT WITH YOUR CHEST

What deranged, unhinged, thought, desire or idea are you keeping to yourself? SAY IT

Finally say the thing that lives in a dark corner of your psyche. Have a difficult conversation with your boss, colleague, friend, or partner. Close the loop of unsaid words and unspoken truths.

Finally bring an idea to Life, buy materials needed to create something you’ve wanted to create, or share a desire with a friend or partner that you’ve never shared before.

Take action on a desire that you have, embody it, live it, allow it to breathe.

Heart Awareness Practice with Kirsty

SOMATIC PRACTICE WITH ANGELA

This practice is all about embodying all of our limitations, frustrations, places in our life we feel at odds with ourselves, where we struggle to say what we mean, where we are afraid to share ourselves or our truths, where we WANT to be in a feminine expression of flow and creativity but we ‘have’ to go and do something else like go to Work. Frustration at not feeling heard, seen, or fully expressed.

  1. CHOOSE A SONG.

2. Wrap your arms around yourself like a strait jacket.

3. For a FULL MINUTE or the FULL SONG, struggle against the strait jacket, wriggle, sound, scream, stamp, GO WILD.

4. When the minute or the song is over, DO NOT drop your arms, BREATHE all that energy INTO YOUR HEART.

5. After 5-10 breaths or more, bring your arms to your side, remain still, and continue breathing into the Heart for as long as you feel.

I DARE YOU…

We want to bring the Somatic Experience of feeling seen, and feeling embarrassed, to EXPAND OUR CAPACITY to be in Truth when it feels scary.

My invitation to you:

For 30 seconds, dance somewhere in public. To music that’s there, to music you put on, or music you are imagining. Dance.

If you want to film this for the chat, then please do!! Your liberation might encourage someone else. Allow yourself to be seen. LEAN INTO where it feels uncomfortable.

I dare you 2:

Stand somewhere really obvious, and stare into space and do nothing, for a whole minute.

Don’t check your phone, look around, pretend to be confused, or anything. Just stand and do nothing, Allow yourself to be seen. FEEL IN YOUR BODY where it feel uncomfortable. Allow the discomfort.

This is a very interesting one!!!

WEEK FOUR

Grounding and integrating, slowing down, tuning in to silence.

This meditation can be done seated or lying down.

Where are you holding your tongue?

If you were an alien that dropped into your Life and Body right now, with the people, opportunities and talents that you have, with none of the programming and thoughts, what do you think that alien would do?

What do you feel prevents you from doing just that?

JOURNALLING

This is a very interesting - and sometimes uncomfortable - practice… perfect!

There is a short voice memo to play at the bottom instead (or as well as) reading the text that provides more context and clarity!

What we are tapping into here, is taking responsibility, which takes us out of identification with the Ego, Separation, and Victim Consciousness.

The invitation is to reflect on past relationships, and explore where you can take responsibility for their difficulties and demise.

Even (and especially) if you see the other person as the perpetrator of negativity. This DOES NOT mean taking blame on, or condoning anything bad. It does mean looking at your self and taking responsibility for yourself.

Using myself as an example, many many years ago I was in a difficult relationship with someone who was very unkind and I found it extremely difficult to leave even though I knew I didn’t want to continue the relationship due to their behaviour. It would have been easy for me to call them many names under the sun and move on with my Life, but I actually drove away from their house and said out loud, in the car, 7 or so years ago, “what do I need to look at within myself to make sure I NEVER end up in a relationship like that again?”

And of course that lead me to answers of self-abandonment, people pleasing, disorganised and anxious attachment styles, lack of self-worth, heart related healing, etc etc.

All of which changed my expression, and life, so dramatically.

It doesn’t condone this persons behaviour, but it does take responsibility for my own part in the co-creation of the experience.

Your journalling should take you to the root.

If you aren’t sure what the root is, explore what it COULD be.

EG:

“I’m too nice” = I abandon myself, I’m not connected to my Truth, I allow others needs to come before my own, I lack self-worth, etc.

“I attach too quickly” = could be seeking validation, another expression of lack of self-worth, emotional needs not being met in childhood, anxious or disorganised attachment, etc

“I don’t leave when I know I should” = lack of self-worth and trust in your self, can be another expression of anxious attachment, volatile and unsafe bond with paternal figure, disconnected from the body and heart, fear of the unknown, etc.

Start by writing down a few names of key relationships in your life that have ended, and explore with your writing, where you can take responsibility for the experience.

JOURNALLING

Write a letter to a person or a pet that has passed over - someone whom you grieved.

When we process grief, this is a powerful catalyse for opening the Heart, and so expect this to be a potentially emotional practice, but one that will allow you to feel what your body is holding on to, and clear it, for opening and renewal.

After you have written the letter, you can either burn it, or bury it, if you like.
